Just got back from our trip to Seattle. I thought I would at least get this blog started as we are getting closer and closer to seeing our Sofia. There are probably some of you out there that aren't too sure about her condition and I will try and explain it as best as I can...but you all are more than welcome to ask questions. So, we traveled to Seattle for a quick trip to meet with the doctor's who will be taking care of us when we are there. All of the information that we have been given by the doctor's here is accurate. Sofia has a VSD and aortic stenosis. The VSD is a hole in the heart and Sofia's is in the tissue dividing the left and right sides. The aortic stenosis is where blood isn't flowing through the left arteries correctly. They also say that she may have something called a coaractation (not sure if that's how it's spelled) in the right side of her heart. This will require a more complicated surgery if it is found. So, the doctor's told us that she will need surgery shortly after she is born. We have to go back to Seattle in about six weeks and they will induce me about a week later at 38 weeks. They said that it is safe for me to deliver on my own, but they would like to induce just in case. We do not have a pediactric cadiology surgeon here in Alaska, so that is why we have to go to Seattle to have Sofia. I met with all the doctors and they were great and answered all the questions we had. They told us that they don't expect us to be in Seattle for longer than five weeks after her birth. I will update you all as we get closer and I will post pictures of her once she comes!

Talia,
I love you to death and wish the best for you and Jason through this experience. Sofia will pull through as anyone with Spagnolo blood could. You are an amazing cousin, daughter, wife, and especially mother. Blessings will fly your and Sofia's way.
I love you,
Johnny
