A Birthday, Synagis Shots, Cardiologist Appointment and a Christmas Tree

Sorry it has been so long since I have been on. I am finishing my battle with the dreaded strep monster. Yes, that's right...I am getting over strep throat that spread to my chest! A lot has happened since Thanksgiving. First and foremost, our precious Princess Gabi turned 3! It is so hard to remember that she is only three with all that she does, but she is. We had a princess themed party and did arts and crafts. Three is the age where everyone says you have the most fun with your children and boy let me tell you, we are having a blast!!
On the Sophia front. She went to the cardiologst yesterday for her synagis shot. She is doing well, she weighted 14 pounds 8 ounces. At five months of age she has finally doubled her birth weight!!! Dr. Penman said she looks really healthy and he is happy with her development. Today we had her dreaded cardiology appointment. I was thisclsoe to missing it because I had a trial that was supposed to last ALL day long, but the parents decided to settle, so I was out of the court room in less then an hour. So I went to her cardiology appointment and I was SO nervous. As you all know, the last time we went to see the cardiologist we were medivaced to Seattle and Sophia had her stint put it. Of course before mommy came in the room they had a hard time getting her blood pressure. But when I got in and wrapped her up, we got good reads! We then did her echo and my heart was in my chest the entire time. Dr. Wellman was very impressed with what he saw. Her heart has returned to almost normal size and the function of the left side of her heart is almost at 100%. The veolocity going through the stint is still a little fast, but not as fast as it was before the stint was put in. He took her off the lasix, but she will stay on captopril and aspirin until at least the next time we see him. We don't get to see Dr. Wellman again until the beginning of March, which makes me SUPER nervous, but I have to remember that everything is in God's hands and He will make sure my baby girl is taken care of.
We also went out and got our Christmas tree today. Gabi had so much fun looking at all of them and when we were smelling them she asked me what it smelled like. I told her that it smelled liek Christmas and she smiled and agreed! She helped us put the ornaments up and loved it. Can't wait for Christmas and spending time with the people I love.

Sounds like you've been busy! Sophia is a chunk!!! She's gaining great :) There's something about their weight gain that takes lots of pressure off of the mama! Glad you're enjoying the holiday season too.
