Hawaii 2012

Yeah, I've been a super bad blogger and haven't been on in a while! we had a great Christmas and a great New Year. We also had a nice little celebration for my dad on the anniversary of his death and had a wonderful family dinner at his favorite restaurant, Moose's Tooth.

We were also so incredibly blessed to be able to travel to Hawaii for a week this year! It's the first time that we took the girls and only the second time that I have been there. We stayed on Oahu and at the Ko Olina Beach Club resort. The NFL players that were there for the Pro Bowl stayed a little farther down the beach from us. It was pretty cool. We got to see a couple players...but more on that later!

We played on the beach A LOT. The weather here in Anchorage before we left never really got above -10, staying the same while we were down there. The girls ABSOLUTELY loved the beach and the water. It's pretty funny though because only about two weeks before our trip, the girls HATED the water. When we were there though, we practically had to pull them out of the water each time! It was wonderful though! We traveled to the Dole Pineapple plantation and the North Shore to see some of the big waves. The girls had a Dole Whip float! (Pineapple ice cream with pineapple/orange juice)




We went to a restaurant at the hotel that the players were staying at and we ended up seeing James Harrison from the Steelers and Jason Babin from the Eagles. Our last day there we went to Honolulu and watched the NFC Pro Bowl practice. It was SO much fun, but I have to be honest that it made me really miss my dad being there. It's amazing being in that atmosphere and I thought it was a great experience for the girls. We then went to the mall afterwards, where I ran into my favorite player, DeMarcus Ware! I gathered some strength and went up to him and got a photo. It's on my phone,, so it's not the greatest photo, but at least it's a photo!
