Fia's Heart Heros

I thought I would highlight the wonderful doctor's that have had a hand in the love and care to Sophia's heart for these last nineteen months.

The first would be our wonderful pediatrician Dr. Jeff Penman. He is who I called the day after I found out about Sophia's heart condition. Dr. Penman was the one who recommended Dr. Wellman to our family and I will be forever grateful to him for this.

The next would of course be the wonderful Dr. Scott Wellman. Dr. Wellman is Sophia's cardiologist. I met Dr. Wellman when I was six months pregnant and while the information he was giving me wasn't sunshine and lollipops, it was the truth and I didn't have any questions after talking to him. He has always been open and honest in regards to Sophia's conditions and is the best cardiologist I could have ever asked for.

Next would be Dr. Lester Permut. He was the surgeon in Seattle that performed Sophia's open heart surgery. Nineteen months later I can still remember him walking out of the operating room and telling us everything went well. I can still remember looking at his hands, his large hands and thinking how incredible it was that he just performed open heart surgery on my one week old child, it was incredible.

Last but not least is Dr.Thomas Jones who has done Sophia's two catheter procedures. Dr. Jones is fantastic and I LOVE the before and after pictures he makes for us!

I owe all of these men my daughter's life and I will spend the rest of my life thanking them for all they have done for Sophia and our family!

Thanks, Talia, for introducing us to all of these wonderful doctors. It is so nice that you have "honored" them in this way. Sophia's a lucky little girl to have had them care for her and to have you and Jason as parents. I love you guys. Grandma
