Big Day for Baby Girl

Baby Sophia had a huge day today. It started this morning when I went to visit her. I always get and update on what has happened over night and the nurse had decreased Sophia's rate on her ventilator to the lowest it could go. The doctor had been in and said that she could get her chest tubes out. About an hour after I got there, they took ALL THREE chest tubes out (they were only going to take out the right and left and leave the middle in). It did hurt her a little bit, but she is such a fighter. She is able to calm herself very quickly after they agitate her. Then a couple of hours later they took her off the ventilator. She did FABULOUS. She is breathing great on her own and we are all very excited. They also started bottle feeding her today. She only takes a few little sucks at one time because she still has to get used to swallowing and breathing at the same time. The doctors have had her of 12 medications since her surgery and the nurse told us today that when we get there tomorrow she should only be on 4. Our baby girl is doing so well and I believe it is because all of the love and support and prayers we have gotten from you!

Hurry up and get home, it is time!
I've been getting a lot of e-mails and questions on how you guys are. Give Gabi and Sophia big hugs and kisses.
